Toscana restaurant opened in the summer of 1999 in Dun Laoghaire and the following year PJ and Dee Butuci opened Dame Street and renovated an old farmhouse in Wicklow with an acre of land, for the sole intention of growing for their new Dublin restaurant.
“The passion for growing expanded over the years as our customers enjoyed what we produced and so demand grew naturally.”
The farmhouse grounds tries to speak the way we want to cook and feed ourselves and our family and of course our guests. With honest produce with no nasty sprays. The restaurant aims to bring thoughtfully produced food and ingredients from our gardens into the heart of Dublin City Centre. Much of the way the farm has evolved is to rotivate sections of growth which maintains the grounds nutrients. Producing great quality seasonal produce to compliment our menus. Fresh farm fair is packed with nutrients and so rewarding for us. We grow up to 70% of our own produce, celebrating the best from the Irish soil on our Italian menus.
